Lee Roy Selmon's lifestyle includes football scholarship, family work as well as community involvement. First family he is the youngest of the nine children of Lucious the Jessie and Lucious Selmon raised on a farm in Eufala, Oklahoma. In football, he played with his three brothers for Oklahoma. All three brothers were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey was one of the starters for the entire 1973 season. Lee Roy received the Outland & Lombardi Awards for being the top lineman from the US. In his time as Oklahoma's starting quarterback, the Sooners went 32-1-1 and won two national titles. In 1975, the National Football Foundation named him a Scholar-Athlete for the third time in 1975. Selmon was awarded a degree from Education. Lee Roy spent ten hours a week on volunteer work during his college years. After graduation, he moved into Tampa and played nine years with Tampa's Buccaneers. He was an All-Pro for three occasions. He then began his career. The first position he held was an Account Relations Manager at First Florida Bank, Tampa. In the past, he worked on the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized him as one of 10 of the most notable young men. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 pounds during his time playing college football. He was a captain in 1975. was on the team. squad. Lee Roy joined the University of South Florida in 1993 as the assistant director of sports. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988. He was also named to the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989 The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave the Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. The presentation was made by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
