Fawn Mckay

Fawn MCK Brodie was born on the 15th of September 1915 at Ogden Utah. Born into the Mormon Church's very first family, Fawn McKay devoted her brilliant writing talents as well as her remarkable abilities in research to create the brilliant psycho-historical biography of Joseph Smith, published in 1945 under the title The Only Man knows My History. The name was taken from the sermon title that Joseph Smith delivered in 1844. In the sermon, he stunned his listeners by stating: "You do not know me and have not heard my voice. Nobody knows my story. It's impossible for me to reveal it. Fawn, a 29-year-old woman wrote: "Since that moment of honesty at least three scores writers have risen to the task." The documents do not lack, they just contradict each with respect to each other. Assembling these documents - sorting through third- and first-hand sources and fitting Mormons' tales of the past to those of non-Mormons into a true historical context - can be a challenge. The task is fascinating and educational. FawnBrodie took on this professional task with enthusiasm and energy. Her work in research and writing earned her fame all over the world. Thaddeus Stephens. The Scourge of Southern (1959) The Devil Drives. Thomas Jefferson. A Personal Historical Document (1974) as well as posthumously Richard Nixon.
