Dolly Parton was born on the 19th of January 1946 at Locust Ridge Tenn. She lived with 12 other children. Her vivid imagination helped her escape from life's harsh reality. life. Prior to learning how to read or write, she composed herself songs. Her first guitar purchase came when she was just 8 years old and began singing on an Knoxville Tenn radio station at the age of 11. The same year she released her first recording on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. While she was a local star while in High School, she knew her dreams were bigger. The singer moved to Nashville the day after graduating in 1964. Dumb Blonde (both 1967) as well as Something Fishy were among her first Monument Records chart-topping records. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female singer to perform on his show syndicated by him from the beginning. Parton took the offer in 1967 signed with RCA Records in 1968 and was a part of with the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. The band split in 1974 after her own hits such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors & Jolene outsold the collaborations. The two split in 1974, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it reached Number. The first time it made it to the top spot was in 1974.
